Summer is officially here, and to kick things off, we're excited to share a couple of highly requested product updates that will give you more functionality and control over your Knack apps.

First, Payments are now available in Next-Gen — so you can connect your payment processor directly to your live app pages and start collecting transactions. Plus, we've rolled out Data Access Control, allowing admins to set up more granular app permissions. Payments Now Available in Next-Gen Apps

Your Next-Gen app can now accept payments. Connect Stripe in minutes, drop a checkout onto any page, and let Knack handle the transaction records and automation for you. Pull payment totals directly from your data, add line items like tax or shipping, and give returning users the option to save a card for faster checkout.

When a payment goes through, confirmation emails, record updates, and page redirects all run automatically through the same rules you already use in the Builder. 

Introducing Data Access Control 

Knack now has true data-layer security. Data Access Control is a centralized permission system that defines exactly what each user role can see and do with every table in your app — enforced at the database level, not just the UI. That means the rules apply everywhere: every page, view, API call, and data export. 

For builders managing multi-role apps, it also means you can collapse duplicate page trees into a single shared structure and let Data Access Control rules handle the rest. It's available today on newly created apps, with support for existing apps coming soon.

Customer Spotlight: Path Fertility

Learn how Path Fertility, a fertility diagnostics startup, built their entire HIPAA-compliant operations platform using Knack Health without a single developer. Two non-technical team members (one from operations, one from finance) went from managing 20+ manual emails per month to running 30+ automated emails and live patient and provider portals.

Result: operational time cut in half while handling 150 orders monthly and positioning for scale.
